NISO Plans New Project on Scholarly Communication

NISO (National Information Standards Organization) voting members “approved a new project to develop a common means to easily transfer manuscripts between and among manuscript systems, such as those in use at publishers and preprint servers.”

Stakeholders who work in manuscript-processing areas (production systems, preprint servers, etc.) are encouraged to provide input for a NISO Recommended Practice that would provide an open protocol for members of the scholarly research ecosystem to use when communicating among various platforms.

For more information, read the press release.
