MuseGlobal Announces New Personalization Features

MuseGlobal, Inc. has announced a new optional MuseSearch product version that allows extensive customization down to the level of the individual metasearch user. The base MuseSearch product offers customization features down to the user class/department level. In the new version, individual user preferences can be captured to provide a personalized interface, selection of search sources, and metasearch functionality. Such attributes as number of results to be returned for each source, the number of results displayed per page, the de-duplication algorithm, and the method of sorting can be directly set by the user.

The user can hide or show any sources in the MuseSearch interface, making it easy to narrow down a large set of searchable sources to only those sources of interest. MuseGlobal has also provided users with the ability to personally manage authentication for all sources. "Personal Access Controls" can easily be entered to search sources that require an individual username/password or various other schemas. Three access types are supported: CGI Script, HTTP Authentication, or Proxy Authorization.
