MetaCrawler Relaunches with Google Results

MetaCrawler (, part of the InfoSpace Network, has relaunched with a new and improved design as well as a next-generation metasearch product, which includes search results and targeted ads from Google. Among the benefits to the new design are a metasearch engine home page and Web search results pages that are cleaner and easier to use. Also included are advertising components that are fewer, more targeted, and less obtrusive, so that users are able to find results faster, according to the announcement. The new MetaCrawler returns results from leading search companies and properties, including Google, FAST, Overture, About, Ask Jeeves, FindWhat, LookSmart, Inktomi, and SearchHippo.

InfoSpace and Google also announced an agreement to bring Google's search technology to InfoSpace's network of Web search properties and affiliates, which includes Excite, Dogpile, WebCrawler, MetaCrawler, and InfoSpace, among others. The relaunch of MetaCrawler represents the first integration of Google into InfoSpace's network. Google results are planned to be available throughout InfoSpace's properties and affiliates by the end of this month.
