MEDLINE with Full Text Now on ProQuest
Bell & Howell Information and Learning has unveiled its latest medical journal database at the Computers in Libraries conference in Washington, DC. The Web-delivered database features abstracting and indexing for some 4,300 medical journals from the National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE database, as well as full text and full-page images for more than 200 key medical journals. Coverage extends from 1966 to the present (full-text coverage dates from 1992).The new MEDLINE database with full text provides coverage of all medical fields, including biomedical research, clinical sciences, dentistry, nursing, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, and more. The new database employs MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing, which allows for productive searching. Researchers will be able to navigate the database easily with drop-down menus, a browsable MeSH thesaurus with topic trees, and a saved-search capability. With the introduction of the new MEDLINE database, Bell & Howell now offers three resources for medical journals. ProQuest Medical Library provides access to 215 titles in full text or full-page image; ProQuest Health and Medical Complete includes 285 titles. Complete title lists for all three databases can be found on the company's Web site at http://www.infolearning.com. Source: Bell & Howell Information and Learning
