Inmagic Announces New Alerting Tool

Inmagic, Inc. recently introduced a new current awareness and alerting tool. Inmagic Profiler uses push technology to send information directly to a knowledge worker from an organization's Inmagic database. The Profiler, developed by an Inmagic partner, Trimagic Software, Sydney, Australia, allows individual users to register a profile that specifies their information requirements and topics of interest and receive e-mail alerts about appropriate new content.

Inmagic Profiler is available in two versions. Inmagic Profiler Standard runs in the Windows environment and allows an information professional or other content manager to set up profiles for individual users, specifying an e-mail address for delivery of the alerts. Inmagic Profiler Enterprise is Web-enabled and, in addition to the capabilities offered in the Windows environment, allows end users to create and edit their own profiles and to retrieve their alerts via a browser interface at the click of a button, typically from the organization's intranet.

Inmagic's information management solutions are installed in more than 7,000 special libraries and information centers in over 50 countries. For more information on Inmagic Profiler, go to
