Infotrieve Develops Text-Mining Solution

Infotrieve completed a pilot project with help from biopharmaceutical company UCB that included the successful implementation of a beta text-mining solution. The solution leverages the capabilities of Infotrieve’s Mobile Library.

“Working closely with Infotrieve and some of our main publishers gave us an opportunity to understand some of the common challenges that researchers face and evolve a solution,” says Andrew Clark, UCB’s associate director of global information and competitive intelligence services.

Infotrieve’s goal was to develop a standardized, copyright-compliant, and user-friendly solution for cloud-based text mining of full-text articles from multiple publishers. Pilot participants used Mobile Library’s search capabilities, as well as its content and rights management tools, to search for articles, create a research set, and refine the results to identify articles as being under subscription, available for purchase, or suitable for text mining.
