EBSCO Publishing Acquires Reference Publisher Salem Press

EBSCO Publishing (www.ebscohost.com) has acquired Salem Press (http://salempress.com), a leading reference publisher. This is a natural extension of a longtime relationship, as Salem Press content has been a mainstay in EBSCO database offerings for many years, including various Magill products and the Masterplots series.

The deal is the result of a natural synergy that exists with book content and database subjects. Salem Press is a high-quality publisher of material in areas where EBSCOhost provides resources, including literature, history, and consumer health. As Salem Press continues to expand its reach into these and other subject areas (e.g., science), content will continue to enrich EBSCOhost databases. EBSCO will bring digitization, indexing, and platform expertise to the Salem Press content, providing the means for a larger reach with this content.

Reference materials from Salem Press are both printed and electronic. The company distributes its work to colleges, schools, and public libraries.
