Dialog Enables Access to NTIS Reports

Dialog (, a business of The Thomson Corp., announced that a collection of more than 400,000 government-sponsored research reports distributed by the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) is now available through the Dialog service. Dialog has enhanced the functionality of its search service to allow searchers accessing the NTIS Database (File 6 on Dialog) to identify and purchase full-text technical reports directly from their search result via electronic download. Reports will be delivered to searchers as PDF images. The reports cover a broad spectrum of subject categories, including aerospace, energy, the environment, health and safety, and many others.

The NTIS database on Dialog contains more than 2 million records, providing summaries of government reports. NTIS, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration, is the federal government's central repository and primary disseminator of scientific, technical, engineering, and related business information sponsored by the U.S. government and selected worldwide sources. It contains research provided from more than 240 U.S. government agencies, including NASA, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy.
