Dialog Adds New Nursing Database

Dialog, a business of The Thomson Corp. (http://www.thomson.com), announced that it has enhanced its portfolio of healthcare information with the addition of EMCare, a new nursing and allied health database produced by Elsevier. The file is also available on the DataStar service. EMCare includes more than 2,700 international source titles with a 10-year backfile, and more than 200,000 new records will be added to the database each year.

EMCare contains nearly 2 million records indexed with EMTREE, Elsevier's Life Science Thesaurus, which has been expanded with close to 1,500 nursing and allied health terms in addition to existing biomedical terms. The enhanced thesaurus is designed to allow for precise and relevant search results. Dialog said that the EMCare database provides access to scientific and professional literature that is directly relevant to the development of more cost-effective and higher quality healthcare in a wide variety of arenas: from hospitals and educational settings through academic and research-oriented facilities.

For more information about EMCare, view the Dialog Bluesheet at http://library.dialog.com/bluesheets/html/bl0045.html or DataStar Datasheet at http://ds.datastarweb.com/ds/products/datastar/sheets/emca.htm.
