Demco Creates Discovery Tool for Libraries

Demco Software launched DiscoverLocal, a tool that helps public and academic libraries get higher rankings in search results. This gives their collections, programs, and events more visibility, which could translate to more usage of the library’s resources and facilities, as well as help librarians with marketing initiatives. According to the press release, “The library uploads metadata about its collection via MARC records and Demco Software does the rest of the work. Search engines crawl these tagged resources and promote them to local community members, or students and faculty for academic libraries, as they search for events, programs, book titles and media on their favorite search engines.”

For more information, read the press release.
