Corpus Juris Secundum Now on Westlaw
West Group, a division of Thomson Corp., has announced that Corpus Juris Secundum (CJS), the authoritative national reference guide to more than 400 legal topics, is now accessible online exclusively via Westlaw, West Group's online legal research service. For decades, legal professionals have relied on CJS as a starting point for research, according to the announcement. CJS provides a national reference guide that covers all state and federal legal topics. CJS also provides fast access to a wide range of related, authoritative legal information resources, including primary law and Restatements of the Law. CJS supplies general rules of law, summarized in "Black Letter" headings and expanded upon in the text. Limitations and exceptions are also included where appropriate. Since the citations and the supporting cases involve both state and federal courts, the user gets a full perspective of the law in a local jurisdiction as well as across the country, together with discussions of relevant federal law that may affect the issue. CJS topics are reflective of the West Key Number System. Source: West Group
