Copernic Improves Desktop Search

Copernic announced the official launch of its new and improved desktop search product, Copernic Desktop Search (CDS) version 1.5. The final production release was launched after 5 weeks of extensive beta testing. Features in CDS 1.5 include smarter CPU resource usage, improved Mozilla Thunderbird support, broader metadata indexing, network drive indexing, support for Netscape 8, multiple performance increases, and more.

CDS brings the power of a search engine to a user's PC and allows for instant searching of files, e-mails, and e-mail attachments stored anywhere on a PC hard drive. Using a streamlined, intuitive user interface, CDS executes sub-second searching of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files; Acrobat PDFs; all popular music, picture, and video formats; contacts; browser history; and favorites.
